Allure 5k / Half Marathon
May 13, Central Park
Results
Allure 5K:
On a great day for running, people headed out to the park to participate in the Allure Mother's Day 5k. There were some strong performances: Jacqueline Seltzer came in third in her age group(45-49) with a time of 23:02. Joan Bondell came in second in her age group(60-64) with a time of 26:32. Laurie Baker came in third in her age group (55-59) with a time of 26:48, and following close behind her was Sharon Garfunkel, who finished 4th with a time of 27:10. Other participants were Nancy Youngbeck (27:37), Michele Grossman (29:03), Rhona Triggs (38:54) and Pamela Guthrie (44:48) Congrats to all.
Allure Half Marathon:
In the half marathon, Millrose also had some strong showings. Marilyn Greeley Walsh came in first in her age group (55-59) with a time of 1:39:54. Naomi Vogel came in second in her age group (65-59) with a time of 2:12:19. Mary Moloney was third in her age group (45-49) with a time of 1:37:57. Other participants were Lisa Stone Saghie (1:40:39), Lisa Donlan (1:46:06), Amy Bahrt (1:47:01), Sandra Powers (1:48:28), L. Turner (1:51:38), Julie Davidson (1:54:01), Jillian Lazaridis (2:04:39), Bonnie Dietrich (2:07:55), and Mary Spera (2:09:21). Great job to everyone.
NYRRC Mens 5K:
There was also a 5k for the men, which got going at an early time of 7:00 am. Despite the early start, Millrose had a good showing. Joe Burns won his age group (70-74) with a time of 24:42. Jerry Stolls came in third in his age group (65-69) with a time of 28:14. Alan Fairbrother came in third in his age group (60-64) with a time of 25:05. Other participants were Paul Kaplan (24:41), Eugene Guthrie (34:31) and Albert Puma (35:18).
