Cross Country 5K Nation Championship:
The Millrose 70 plus teams won first and second palce at the Cross Country National Championship in Holmdel, NJ on Novemeber 19th. The first team was made up of Bill Fortune, Ken Jones, and John McManus. The second team was made up of Jack Haar, Wallace Cutler, and Tom Gibbons. Three additional runners were held back in reserve; they were Joe Burns, Sab Koide and Al Pulma. Great work!.
Rothman 8K & Marathon
Here is a e-mail from Bonnie Dietrich, who ran in Philadelphia this past weekend:
"On Sunday, November 19, I ran the Rothman 8K in Philadelphia. Despite the
rather slow time of 41:10 I placed third in the 50-59 age group (awards went 5 deep). It was chilly and cloudy with occasional gusting winds, and I was
delighted that I had not signed up for the Philadelphia Marathon which was run the same morning. However, after my race as I watched the marathon
finishers, I spotted a very strong-looking Marge Kos finishing in 3:58:43. I can only repeat that the weather was miserably cold, and there was Marge
looking absolutely terrific, with a most respectable time, besides. Brava!"
