Sports Fitness Half Marathon:
Yesterday the indefatigable veteran women picked up 20 points to place third in the Half Marathon. Leading off the team was none other than New York Road Runners Club 50+ nominee Marjorie Kos, followed by Flora Flores, coming off a spectacular Boston Marathong less than 3 weeks ago. Rounding out the team was the tenacious Laurie Baker who signed up one half hour before the race.
The Millrose Masters women edged out Moving Comfort New York by a hair in the Half Marathon, thanks to the efforts of Sandra Powers who led the team, followed by the consistently speedy Mary Ann Moloney. Marjorie Kos "iced the cake" for second place. The final results are, NY Flyers, Millrose AA, Moving Comfort.
